The higher the comfort level you choose, the better sensitivity, support, and pressure relief the bed provides. To compare our bed models, you can look at the bed’s pocket springs, filling materials, and top mattress.
Pocket springs
Wonderland’s pocket spring systems come in several comfort levels. On a continental bed, there can be different types of pocket springs in the main mattress and the bottom mattress. Exclusive and Sensitive Pocketare highly premium spring systems that provide the optimal conditions for sleep quality and recovery.
Filling materials
The filling materials used in our beds are Latex or Welun. Latex is the most exclusive materials and provide excellent sensitivity and pressure relief.
Top mattress
Wonderland’s top mattresses are made with Pulse Latex or Hyperflex. Pulse Latex is a premium material that provides an optimal sleep comfort and climate.
Firmness
To find the firmness that suits you, try the bed in the same sleeping position you usually fall asleep in. If you mostly sleep on your side, make sure your spine stays as straight as possible. When you find a bed that fits you, the bed’s shoulder zone should allow your shoulder to sink comfortably into the mattress. Your hips should be supported so your spine stays aligned.
With Wonderland’s adjustable hip zone, you can always fine‑tune the bed’s firmness. This makes choosing the right bed and firmness much easier!
Retailers, price and ongoing offers
Wonderland beds are available at retailers in several countries. Prices and ongoing offers can be found in-store or on the retailers’ websites.
The higher the comfort level you choose, the better sensitivity, support, and pressure relief the bed provides.
If you struggle with sleep, feel fatigued, or experience discomfort in your muscles, back, or neck, we recommend choosing Exclusive or Sensitive Pocket.
If you often experience sleep problems or pain in your back or neck, we recommend choosing a bed with materials that give you the very best conditions for good sleep and recovery.
To compare our beds at the store, you can check the models pocket spring systems, filling materials, and which top mattress the bed has. We recommend that you choose:
A top mattress with Pulse Latex.
A bed with our adjustable hip zone so you can fine-tune the firmness.
Exclusive or Sensitive Pocket, which provide the best possible conditions for quality sleep and recovery.
Our beds are available in two or three firmness levels. To find the firmness that suits you, try the bed in the same sleeping position you usually fall asleep in.
If you mostly sleep on your side, make sure your spine stays as straight as possible:
Your hips should be supported so your spine stays aligned.
The shoulder zone of the bed should help your shoulder sink comfortably into the mattress.
Adjustable hip zone
With Wonderland’s adjustable hip zone, you can always fine‑tune the bed’s firmness. This makes choosing the right bed and firmness much easier!
Fortunately, it is rare that we receive warranty claims on our beds. If you still have something to claim, you should contact the store where you purchased the bed.
The store will create a claim case and forward it to Wonderland for assessment. To make the process smoother, we recommend preparing the following before submitting your claim:
Check whether your purchase is within the 5‑year guarantee period (regulated by the Consumer Purchases Act) or within the 25‑year guarantee against spring and frame breakage.
Include your purchase receipt. If you no longer have it, the store can usually find the necessary information using your surname or phone number.
Clearly describe the reason for the claim. Include photos (or audio/video, if relevant) and a short explanation. If the claim concerns the mattress, remember to remove the top mattress and any covers before taking photos. To illustrate the issue, you may use straight objects (such as a broomstick or ruler).
It always takes some time to get used to a new bed, so it’s important to wait 3–4 weeks before considering changing to a different firmness.
If you feel you’ve chosen a mattress that is too firm or too soft, most of our retailers offer a comfort exchange guarantee within a limited period after purchase. Contact the store where you bought the bed and ask about the options for changing to a different firmness.
Fine-tune the firmness with the adjustable hip zone
If you have purchased a Wonderland bed with our adjustable hip zone, you can always fine‑tune the bed’s firmness to suit you and your sleeping position.
With the BED CONTROL app, you can adjust your adjustable bed using your mobile phone or tablet.
The app includes the same functions as the remote control. In addition, you can access extra features in the app (available for beds with HC Frame Standard or HC Frame Advanced).
When your adjustable bed is delivered, the remote control should already be paired with the bed. If the remote control is not working, you can easily pair it with the bed yourself.Choose your model here:
When we fall asleep, the body quickly transitions into deep sleep – the most restorative stage of the night. The longer the body can rest without unnecessary movement early in the night, the longer this first and most important deep‑sleep phase becomes. That’s why the right bed makes all the difference for your sleep.
Sleep research at the heart of our development
Our long‑term work with sleep researchers has taught us exactly what contributes to proper recovery. These insights shape every detail of our beds, ensuring that materials and ergonomic features work together for truly restorative sleep. Our goal is clear: to give you sleep that truly improves your life.
Check this when trying a new bed
Do you have a favourite position when falling asleep? Try the bed in that same position. If you prefer to sleep on your side, the soft shoulder zone should help your shoulder to sink into the mattress, and the firmer should give the right support for your hips. With Wonderland’s adjustable hip zone you can fine-tune the firmness and personalize the support entirely to your needs.

Wonderland’s 25‑year guarantee covers spring breakage in our pocket mattresses and breakage of the wooden frame in our continental beds or boxsprings.
The guarantee is valid from the purchase date stated on the receipt. Our 25‑year guarantee does not apply in cases of inadequate or incorrect product maintenance or for beds in commercial use.
The guarantee does not apply to:
Breakage of the bottom frame on our motorized adjustable beds.
Breakage of the wooden slats (here the 5-year guarantee applies).
For more than 20 years, Wonderland has worked closely with leading sleep researchers. The goal has always been the same: to understand what happens while we sleep, how the body recovers most effectively – and how we can use this knowledge to develop beds that truly improve your life.
Sleep research as our foundation
Through our extensive research collaborations, we now know more than ever about what creates proper rest. This insight forms the foundation of every choice we make – from materials and construction to technical solutions and unique ergonomic features.
Sleep studies provide unique insights
We have carried out several comprehensive sleep studies in close cooperation with our dedicated sleep research team. This gives us unique insight into how we actually sleep – and what it takes for us to sleep even better.
One of the most important findings is that 75% of people prefer to sleep on their side. That’s why we have developed zoned solutions that combine soft and firm zones, ensuring pressure relief and support exactly where the body needs it most.
Sleep that improves your life
Our vision to help the world sleep better began back in 1969 – a driving force that remains just as strong today. With solid knowledge about sleep and what the body needs to rest well, we design our beds with one clear goal: to give you sleep that truly improves your life.

With the WondRest environmental project, Wonderland has gained powerful insights that enable us to create truly sustainable solutions. Our ambition to reduce the environmentalfootprint of our beds by 50% is already turning into real results: smarter materials, local production, and new technology that lifts comfort to an entirely new level.
SkyTex®
Luxurious comfort, locally produced
SkyTex® has been developed with the insight that material choice is one of the key drivers of environmental impact. That’s why we have created a new foam that offers the same soft, luxurious feel as latex, but is produced right next to the Wonderland factory in Norway – ensuring local production and significantly lower transport emissions. Tests also show that SkyTex® delivers outstanding durability: compared with latex, the material loses less firmness, height, and shape after long‑term use. As a result, SkyTex® maintains its properties, feel, and comfort year after year.
More comfort – smaller footprint
SkyTex® shows how research, innovation and environmental ambition can be transformed into real improvements, and how the WondRest project continues to deliver solutions that enhance your sleep while reducing your environmental impact.

All Wonderland products are covered by a 5-year guarantee that includes material or manufacturing defects.
The guarantee is valid from the purchase date stated on the receipt. Our 5‑year guarantee does not apply in cases of inadequate or incorrect product maintenance or for beds in commercial use.
Good sleep is a valuable and important investment in our health, well‑being, and everyday performance. When we sleep well, everyday life becomes easier. We gain more patience, more energy, and more to give – to ourselves, to those around us, and to everything we want to achieve.
What happens when we sleep?
When we fall asleep, the body initiates processes that affect everything from concentration and memory to the immune system, muscle tension, and stress levels. Research also shows that sleep works like a “washing machine” for the brain. Waste products that accumulate throughout the day are flushed out, allowing both the brain and the body to prepare for a new day.
Which sleeping position is most common?
For several years, Wonderland have conducted large sleep surveys, and the results are clear. 96% have a preferred sleeping position, and 75% choose to sleep on their side. Side-sleeping also becomes more common with age. With knowledge about how the body recovers best in different sleeping positions, we can develop beds that keep the body in an optimal position throughout the night.
How much sleep do we need?
Sleep needs vary from person to person, but general recommendations state that adults need 7–9 hours of sleep, while adolescents need 8–10 hours each night. Some manage with slightly less, while others need more to wake up refreshed and ready for a new day.
Do we sleep deeply all night?
Sleep consists of several stages that repeat throughout the night. When we fall asleep, we quickly enter deep sleep, the most restorative phase where the body recovers, renews itself, and strengthens the immune system. After this, we transition into lighter sleep and REM sleep, where the brain processes impressions, emotions, and learning. The interaction between these stages helps us wake up feeling more rested – both physically and mentally.
Sleep research as a foundation for better beds
To understand the importance of sleep and how it can be improved, Wonderland has collaborated with leading sleep researchers for over 20 years. Our product development is based on insights into:
How the sleep stages affect sleep quality.
How the body can remain as still as possible during the first deep sleep stage.
What level of comfort, support, and pressure relief the body needs for better recovery.
How ventilation, moisture management, and materials influence recovery and sleep quality.
Sleep that improves your life
Since 1969, Wonderland’s vision has remained the same: to contribute to a world that sleeps better. For us, sleep is about far more than a good bed. It’s about quality of life, energy, presence – and about being able to stand stronger in everyday life. That’s why we make our beds with one clear goal: to give you sleep that truly improves your life.

Our work to reduce the environmental footprint of our beds is based on insights from Wonderland’s large sustainability project, WondRest.
A solid foundation of knowledge
Through three years of research and close collaboration with industry partners, researchers and expert environments, we have built a solid foundation for developing more sustainable solutions for the future. Our ambition is to reduce the environmental footprint of our beds by 50% – not through a single action, but through a series of improvements that together create meaningful impact.
Materials that last longer and impact less
Materials are one of the biggest drivers of environmental footprint. That is why we actively work to develop and select solutions that last longer, have a lower environmental impact, and contribute to a more circular value chain. The research from the WondRest project has given us insight into where we can achieve the greatest improvements – both in today’s products and in the solutions we develop for the future.
Local and responsible production
We produce our beds in Åndalsnes, on the west coast of Norway, and work with local suppliers in Norway and Northern Europe. This is a deliberate choice that gives reduced transport emissions, greater transparency, safer materials and more responsibility throughout the entire value chain.
Efficient resource use across production
To reduce our footprint, resources must be used more efficiently. Small improvements across several stages can create significant overall impact. This is why we work systematically to select the right materials, optimise processes, reduce waste and develop modular solutions that enable more efficient logistics.
A long‑term commitment to continuous improvement
Reducing the environmental footprint of our beds is long-term work. We have not set a final timeline, but we are committed to implementing measures that are measurable and realistic. Building on the results from the WondRest project, we continue to test, develop and implement solutions that make a real difference – both for the environment and for the quality of our products.
Together, we can make a difference
For us, sustainability is about far more than offering an eco-friendly bed. It is about the small and large choices we make – the ones that together create meaningful change. Our beds are made with one clear purpose: to improve life – for you, and for the planet we share.

Most of us do it without thinking. We lie down, settle in, and naturally turn onto our side. In fact, around 75% prefer this sleeping position, and the number increases with age. But why do so many choose to sleep on their side, and how can this knowledge help us sleep even better? The answers lie in biology, in the sense of safety we seek, and how the body rests best.
Why we choose to sleep on our side
Sleeping on your side is perceived by many as calming. It’s a position that can resemble the fetal posture and creates an intuitive sense of security. At the same time, lying on your side offers better ergonomics. The spine maintains a more natural, pressure‑relieving alignment that reduces muscle tension. Recent research also shows that the brain’s “washing system” – the mechanism responsible for clearing out waste and toxins – works more efficiently when we sleep on our side. These findings suggest there may be a biological reason why so many naturally prefer this sleeping position. Quite simply, the body chooses what feels best on its own.
What your body needs from your bed
When you sleep on your side, your body needs a bed that allows your shoulder to sink naturally into the mattress while the heavier hip area receives the right amount of support. When the spine stays aligned, you achieve a more relaxed and ergonomic position – and a deeper, more restorative sleep.
Why Wonderland is the perfect match
Since most of us prefer to sleep on our side, we have designed an optimal combination of soft and supportive zones to give you maximum comfort and improved sleep quality. Several of our models also feature an adjustable hip zone, allowing you to fine‑tune the firmness andpersonalize the support entirely to your needs. And with our unique zoning and suspension system in several layers, Wonderland’s beds will provide even better sleep.
If you want to learn more about the brain’s cleansing system and how sleep position can affect it, you can search for: glymphatic system sleep position.

Wonderland’s zone system combines a soft shoulder zone with a firmer hip zone. Your shoulders get the right relief, your hips receive stable support, and your spine stays in a natural, ergonomic position.
How many zones are ideal?
It’s not about the number of zones, but about the right zone design. Wonderland’s ergonomic zone system gives you deeper relief, better sleeping posture, improved sleep quality and a personalized comfort – exactly where you need it most.
Perfect for side sleepers
Since 75% of us prefer sleeping on our side, all our beds feature a soft shoulder zone that allows the shoulder to sink naturally and avoid pressure points. The shoulder area accounts for only about 25% of your body weight and therefore needs help to sink deeper into the mattress to achieve proper relief. This supports better relaxation in both the back and neck, creating the ideal conditions for deep, undisturbed sleep.

The Norwegian Transparency Act aims to promote corporate transparency, and respect for human rights and decent working conditions throughout the supply chain.
The Transparency Act requires that companies provide information upon request and carry out due diligence assessments, which must be documented in a report made publicly available. The Act does not require companies to disclose the names of their suppliers or business partners.
How we work with the Transparency Act
Complete mapping of all suppliers – to ensure a clear and secure overview.
Mandatory signing of the Wonderland Code of Conduct – our ethical guidelines that all suppliers must follow.
Self-assessment through the Wonderland Code of Conduct Score – where suppliers evaluate how they meet the requirements.
Supplier visits with a focus on responsibility – we observe, ask questions, and follow up on site.
Risk analysis using the Global Rights Index – to identify and act on potential risk areas.
Clear documentation and full transparency – the results are published on our website under “About us.

Wonderland assesses country-related production risk using the Global Rights Index published by the International Trade Union Confederation.
The Global Rights Index ranks countries from 1 to 5+, where 1 indicates low risk and 5+represents the highest level of risk for human rights violations. All of our suppliers are classified according to this index, and special attention is given to production countries rated between 4 and 5+.
Assessment of production countries shall be carried out on an ongoing basis, and an overview should be compiled no later than the second quarter each year.
Supplier risk overview
Data from our assessment in 2023 show that 99% of our suppliers’ production countries (measured by share of total purchasing volume) fall within classification levels 1 to 3. We have no suppliers operating in countries rated 5+.
Subcontractor risk overview
For subcontractors (our suppliers’ suppliers), the assessment is based on the number of subcontractors per country. Here, 79% are located in countries classified between 1 and 3, and none operate in countries classified as 5+.
Our commitment
Through structured, long-term, and transparent practices, we ensure a supply chain where quality, safety, and responsibility go hand in hand. This is a central part of Wonderland’s work – and a natural foundation for us when developing products designedto provide the sleep quality you need that truly improves your life.
A bed is one of the most used pieces of furniture in our homes. That’s why it matters how it is made, which materials are used, and how long it actually lasts. Developing products with a long lifespan is one of the most important sustainability principles. It reduces environmental impact and ensures lasting sleeping comfort.
Features that provide long‑lasting quality
To maintain the same high level of comfort over many years, our tests show that the most important material properties are the ability to provide good pressure relief, moisture wicking, and ventilation.
In addition, the materials must withstand continuous temperature changes to ensure that the bed delivers stable comfort over time.
What our customers say
In Wonderland’s customer survey from 2022/2023, with over 3,000 participants, the results are clear:
89%
believe that long lifespan is the most important criterion for a more sustainable bed.
79%
highlight washable textiles as an important environmental choice.
Our customers confirm what we also see in our tests: What truly makes a bed more environmentally friendly is quality, durability, and the ability to maintain and care for the product over time.
How we create sleeping comfort that lasts
To ensure that our beds provide the same great comfort for many years, we combine technology, material selection, and design developed for long-term durability:
Advanced pocket spring systems with very long lifespan.
Materials that withstand pressure and temperature changes.
Materials that provide good moisture transport and ventilation.
Reversible mattresses.
Modular design where parts can be replaced.
25 years guarantee against breakage of pocket springs and bed frames.
A bed that lasts longer is a better environmental choice
The most sustainable choice you can make is to choose a bed that lasts a long time—both in comfort and quality. That’s why we develop our beds with a strong focus on durability, ventilation, and materials designed to withstand many years of daily use.
This is also at the heart of Improving Life® – our commitment to improving life, both for you and for our planet. When a bed lasts longer, you sleep better over time, gain more energy in everyday life, and we use fewer of the earth’s resources.

Wonderland places great emphasis on creating a healthy sleep environment. That’s why we use washable textiles on the entire bed* – not only on the top mattress.
Washable textiles provide a cleaner, healthier, and more durable sleep setting. They also offer full flexibility: easily change the textile when you want a new look – without replacing the whole bed. And because the textiles can both be washed and replaced, they extend the overall lifespan of the bed.
*Applies to continental beds, boxsprings, mattresses and 342/412 adjustable beds.
Wonderland’s adjustable hip zone allows you to fine‑tune the bed’s firmness and personalize the support entirely to your needs.
The hip area makes up about 55% of your body weight, making it the heaviest part of the body. With the adjustable hip zone, you can refine the support exactly where you need it, ensuring your hips stay aligned and don’t sink too deeply into the mattress. When everything is in balance, your spine remains straight, your muscles relax – and you enjoy deeper, more restorative sleep.
Easy adjustment for perfect comfort
You’ll find the hip zone adjustment underneath the bed. You can fine‑tune the firmness both during assembly and at any time after the bed is set up.
Softer
Place the sliders towards the middle. The bed gets softer and your hip will sink further down.
Firmer
Place the sliders towards the edges. The bed gets firmer and your hip will be placed further up.

With the BED CONTROL APP you can adjust the bed with your mobile or tablet.
The app includes the same functions as the remote control. In addition, you’ll find extra features in the app (available for bed models using the HC Frame Standard or Advanced remote controls).
An EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) gives you comparable information about a product’s total environmental impact – from raw materials to the finished product and through to end of life. The document is third‑party verified and follows international standards, ensuring that the data is accurate and transparent.
We are working systematically to develop EPDs for all our components. A selection of our beds and products will be published on EPD Global – an important step in our commitment to increased transparency, solid documentation, and responsible material choices.
When you choose a bed or mattress with SkyTex®, Welun or Hyperflex, you get a locally produced product, made right next to our Wonderland factory in Åndalsnes, Norway.
All our foam materials are certified by CertiPUR, which sets strict requirements for the material’s contents. The materials are tested annually by independent laboratories to ensure they continue to meet all standards for health, safety, and quality.
A good choice that gives you more comfort. More control. More locally produced materials.
Wonderland is FSC-certified. This means we choose timber from forests that are managed responsibly in line with the requirements of FSC (Forest Stewardship Council). The certification ensures traceability in the supply chain and that the wood comes from sustainable and controlled forestry.
Wonderland’s FSC certification currently applies to all bottom frames for continental beds and boxsprings, all headboards, and our wooden legs. We are actively working to ensure that all wooden components become FSC-certified – an important step in our commitment to responsible material choices.

Lower scores do not automatically affect the supplier relationship but signal areas for improvement, either independently or in collaboration with Wonderland. The assessment is conducted every two years.
Identifying areas of concern
During supplier visits, Wonderland representatives assess compliance with the 19 principles in our Code of Conduct through on-site observations and conversations with employees across departments.
If deviations are identified, we engage in an open and constructive dialogue with the supplier to define corrective actions. When needed, an external auditor may conduct inspections and provide a report with recommended improvements.
How can Wonderland contribute meaningfully to sustainable development and the UN Sustainable Development Goals? For us, it begins with sleep – and the understanding of how essential sleep is to both health and quality of life. That is why we have chosen to focus primarily on the UN goal “Good health and well‑being,” which closely aligns with our vision of contributing to a world that sleeps better. In addition, we also focus on the goals “Responsible consumption and production” and “Climate action.” Together, these three goals form the foundation of our sustainability work.
Sleep that improves life
UN SDG 3: Good health and well‑being
For more than 20 years, Wonderland has worked closely with leading sleep researchers. The goal has always been the same: to understand what happens while we sleep, how the body recovers most effectively – and how we can use this knowledge to develop beds that truly improve your life. This insight forms the foundation of every choice we make in product development – from materials and construction to technical solutions and unique ergonomic features. Our vision is clear: we want to contribute to a world that sleeps better.
We have a strong network of local suppliers closely connected to our daily production. In addition, over 95% of our suppliers produce within Northern Europe. Short‑distance collaboration across our value chain enables us to work side by side at every stage of the process, ensuring premium quality in every detail. Our local commitment makes production more flexible, precise and sustainable, with shorter transport distances, stronger quality control and a value chain built on long‑term partnerships with people and suppliers we know well. The result is beds made with responsibility, expertise and genuine craftsmanship – all with one clear goal: to give you sleep that truly improves your life.
Together with our suppliers, we actively work to reduce and optimize material use and production processes. We continuously seek new solutions that can reduce our overall environmental footprint.
The WondRest project, launched in 2020, demonstrates that it is possible to reduce the environmental footprint of a bed by 50% – without compromising on either quality or comfort. The insights from WondRest now guide strategic and sustainable decisions across the business. Implementation and further development are already underway and will continue for years to come.
Sleep plays a vital role in our lives. Equally important is how we can contribute positively to the world around us – through all the everyday choices that make a meaningful difference. This is why we design our beds with one clear goal: to give you sleep that truly improves life – for you, and for our planet.
Our journey started in 1969. Surrounded by some of the world’s most striking and rugged mountain peaks, a profound vision took shape – to contribute to a world that sleeps better. This mindset continues to guide us today. Combining local craftsmanship, modern production, short‑travelled value chains and deep knowledge of what the body needs to fully recharge, we create beds designed to give you more out of life.
Why Åndalsnes?
Choosing Åndalsnes, in the middle of Norway, was no coincidence. The region was already a thriving centre for the Norwegian furniture industry, with a growing need for high‑quality foam materials. The combination of industrial expertise and railway infrastructure made Åndalsnes the ideal location for establishing a production facility. Raw materials were efficiently transported by train from Europe – delivered straight into the factory that opened in 1969. Our first mattress, Welun 007, was launched shortly after – a breakthrough that addressed a common problem of the time, when foam mattresses often felt warm, humid and uncomfortable.
Over time, our strong local roots in Åndalsnes have evolved into a unique network of short‑travelled suppliers, creating a robust, efficient and professional production community.
The very first continental bed
Odd Slettaøyen, one of the first employees of Westnofa, played a key role in developing several innovations that shaped both our company and the mattress industry. As early as 1978, Westnofa launched its first mattress with a spring system, and in order to further strengthen its focus on beds and mattresses, the mattress division became Wonderland in 1980. Just three years later, the W1001 spring mattress was launched, and it quickly became a success. This was the first mattress to be sold together with a separate top mattress – something that was regarded as both modern and innovative.
The very first continental bed was introduced by Wonderland in 1988. Once again, it was Odd Slettaøyen who stood behind the innovation, having brought home inspiration from a trade fair on another continent. This led to the development of today’s continental bed, built with multiple layers of mattresses.
Sleep climate, durability and personal comfort
Throughout the 1990s, we deepened our understanding of how sleep climate and a healthy sleep environment affect both sleep quality and the bed’s durability. In 1995, we introduced removable and washable textiles – a popular feature that remains one of Wonderland’s key product characteristics. In 2010, we followed up with our adjustable hip zone, an innovation that continues to be important throughout our collection.
One of the world’s most modern bed factories
Since 2017, Wonderland has been owned by local investors committed to the future and the continued development in Åndalsnes. Today, we operate one of the world’s most modern bed factories, where craftsmanship meets advanced technology through robotic production lines and highly precise automated processes.
Research shaping the bed of the future
For more than 20 years, we have collaborated with leading sleep researchers to understand what truly allows the body to recover and rest. This insight forms the foundation for every decision we make – from materials and construction to technical solutions and unique ergonomic features.
In 2020, we initiated the WondRest project, one of the most significant environmental initiatives in the Norwegian furniture industry. It demonstrates that it is possible to reduce the environmental footprint of a bed by 50% – without compromising on quality or comfort. Insights from WondRest now guide strategic and sustainable decisions across the business. Implementation and further development are already underway and will continue for years to come.
A clear goal
Sleep plays a vital role in our lives. Equally important is how we can contribute positively to the world around us – through all the everyday choices that make a meaningful difference. That is why we design our beds with one clear goal: to give you sleep that truly improves life – for you, and for our planet.

ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 are part of our long‑term commitment to quality and environmental responsibility. These certifications confirm that we work systematically, responsibly, and with continuous improvement throughout every stage of production. This gives you products you can trust – developed with a focus on quality, accountability, and conscious environmental choices.
ISO 9001 – quality in every detail
ISO 9001 confirms that we maintain a systematic and well‑documented quality management approach across the entire production process. This ensures consistent and reliable products, strong routines for control and testing, and continuous improvement in every step of production.
ISO 14001 – a clear environmental commitment
ISO 14001 demonstrates that we take our environmental impact seriously. The standard requires us to work in a structured way to reduce waste, energy consumption, and emissions – and to continuously seek smarter and more sustainable solutions. It also supports us in setting clear environmental targets, monitoring progress, and documenting our results. This allows us to take ongoing steps toward more resource‑efficient and responsible production.
Why ISO matters
ISO certifications are among the world’s most recognized standards for quality and environmental management. For us, they are more than proof of strong routines – they reflect our commitment to working purposefully, transparently, and responsibly. With ISO 9001 and 14001, we ensure clear processes, documented control, and continuous improvement throughout our production. This gives you products you can rely on – and confidence in the choices you make.
WondRest began as an ambitious research project. Today, it stands as one of the most comprehensive environmental initiatives in the Norwegian furniture industry, and as clear proof of how innovation and collaboration can turn sustainability goals into real, measurable results. After three years of research, testing, and close cooperation with experts, one conclusion is clear. It is possible to reduce the environmental footprint of a bed by 50% without compromising on either quality or comfort.
Knowledge driving meaningful change
The WondRest project brought together expertise in environmental science, industrial design, materials technology and sleep research. The involvement of suppliers from across the entire value chain – and our local waste management facility – added essential insight on materials, recycling and circularity. This work created a solid foundation that highlights which factors have the greatest influence on environmental impact – and where improvements deliver the most significant results.
The breakthrough didn’t come from a single solution, but from understanding how everything is connected – from materials and logistics to design philosophy and production methods. Every improvement points in the same direction: longer product life, lower impact and more responsible use of resources. The insights from WondRest now guide strategic and sustainable choices across the business.
Material innovations and improvements
A detailed review of every material in the bed showed that many small adjustments can together deliver a powerful overall result. One example is the increase in recycled steel – from 25% to 75%, replacing 300 tonnes of steel annually. Another is the move to more recycled plastic in key components, equivalent to 23 tonnes each year.
WondRest has also laid the foundation for several innovations, including SkyTex® – a high‑quality foam that delivers the same soft and premium feel as latex. SkyTex® has significantly lower transport emissions thanks to local production at the factory next to Wonderland. Tests also show that SkyTex® offers excellent long‑term durability compared to other materials.
A strong commitment to local production
WondRest further reinforced Wonderland’s focus on Norwegian and Northern European suppliers. Local partnerships reduce transport emissions, increase traceability, offer greater flexibility and strengthen control – resulting in a more robust and transparent value chain. Today, over 95% of our suppliers produce within Northern Europe.
Shaping the future
WondRest isn’t the end of an environmental effort – it’s the beginning. Implementation, improvements and further development are already underway and will continue for years to come.
For us, sustainability is about far more than creating a greener bed. It’s about the bigger picture, and all the small and large decisions we make to improve our products and our everyday lives. WondRest proves that when knowledge, dedication and innovation work together, even a bed can make a meaningful difference. This is why we design our beds with one clear goal: to give you sleep that improves life – for you and for the planet.

Choosing the right textiles for your bed is about more than style. It’s about long-lasting comfort, a healthy sleeping environment, and materials that are better for both you and the planet. That’s why we choose exclusive synthetic textiles – modern, high‑performance materials designed to improve your sleep.
Moisture management that works – just like in sportswear
Just like the high‑tech fabrics used in sports and outdoor clothing, synthetic materials offer exceptional moisture transport and dry quickly. Cotton, on the other hand, absorbs moisture, becomes wet, and can feel cold and uncomfortable. The same principle also applies to your bed and sleeping environment. Synthetic textiles draw moisture away from the body more efficiently, dry faster, and help maintain a more stable, balanced temperature throughout the night.
Clean, fresh and practical – washable at 60°C
Dust mites are found in every home and thrive especially well in beds, where it is warm, dark, and humid. To remove dust mites and ensure a clean and healthy sleeping environment, bed textiles need to be washed at 60°C. Our synthetic textiles are designed specifically for this. They withstand washing at 60°C, allowing you to easily maintain a clean, fresh and hygienic sleep environment.
Long-lasting quality – comfort that lasts
Our exclusive synthetic textiles are engineered to keep their shape and deliver consistent comfort over time. They resist pilling, hold their structure, and endure far more wear than many natural fibres. Durable textiles mean fewer replacements, less waste – making them a more sustainable choice in the long run.
A responsible material choice
Synthetic textiles require significantly less water to produce than many natural alternatives. For comparison, producing one kilo of polyester uses around 60 litres of water, while cotton production requires as much as 10,000–20,000 litres per kilo of textile. Our synthetic HARMOLAN textile takes responsibility even further. With innovative production technology, it can be made entirely without water – significantly reducing resource use. We also actively work to use recycled synthetic fibres whenever possible, giving materials a new life in products designed to last. A choice that’s good for you, your sleep and the planet.

HARMOLAN is a durable and long‑lasting textile with a strong environmental profile. It is made from polypropylene – a synthetic material derived from residual by‑products, produced without the use of water and with low energy consumption.
Long‑lasting quality
HARMOLAN is naturally dirt‑ and water‑repellent, helping it maintaining both appearance and performance exceptionally well over time. Because the colour is added before the fibres are spun, the textile retains its colour longer than many other fabrics. In addition, Wonderland’s textiles are removable and can be washed at 60°C, making maintenance easy and further extending the lifespan of the bed.
Upcycling of residual materials
HARMOLAN is made from polypropylene sourced from residual by‑products in the petrochemical industry. A previously unused by‑product is refined into small pellets that are melted, coloured and spun into new textile fibres. In this way, waste materials gain new life, reducing the need for virgin resources.
Produced entirely without water
While other textile materials require large amounts of water in production, HARMOLAN is made entirely without water. For comparison, polyester uses around 60 litres of water per kilo of textile, while cotton requires as much as 10,000–20,000 litres per kilo.
Low energy consumption
HARMOLAN is produced at low temperatures, resulting in significantly lower energy use than many other textile fibres.
A choice with lower environmental impact
With HARMOLAN, you choose a textile that combines low environmental impact with high performance: less water, less energy – more quality and more responsibility

Wonderland wants to make it easier to make healthy and sustainable choices. Therefore, we have choosen to certify our Wonderland Top Mattress collection with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel – the official ecolabel of the Nordic countries.
Environmental certification is an important tool to ensure that our materials meet strict environmental requirements. This makes it easier to choose sustainably, and you can feel confident that you are getting a healthy sleep environment.
Reversible mattresses extend the lifespan of your bed and provide the same comfort year after year.
Every night, the materials in your mattress are exposed to pressure, moisture and temperature changes. By turning the mattress a couple of times a year, you distribute the wear across both sides. This allows the materials to recover, helping the mattress maintain both support and comfort for longer.
A simple routine that makes a big difference
You can turn our mattresses in any direction: rotate the head and foot ends, or turn them over to the other side. A simple routine that provides a more durable and comfortable bed over time.
